Job Summary

Amal organization seeks to provide strategic guidance to teams and project managers in ways that promote the organization’s culture, to oversee the progress of operations.  A program manager is the strategic project planner of an organization. They define and supervise different projects at the same time, which are all part of a program designed to add value to the organization.

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and design program strategies  in alliance with Amal strategy
  • Assist the Programs to improve grants management and compliance tools and capacities.
  • Assist the Program’s in organizing and supporting donors’ meetings and workshops to improve grants management tools and capacities.
  • Concept notes, proposal and program development, and Amal products producing
  • Build a strong communication network with donors and partners.
  • Establishing successful relationships with partners and donors and following up on all the funds Raising and seeking new opportunities and new partners, and presenting Amal in front of all donors and partners.
  • Actively building and maintaining a flexible, responsive, and amicable relationship with key program stakeholders set a positive example for program staff by ensuring that messaging and actions relate to donors.
  • Assist in implementation and monitoring and evaluations of programs.
  • Responsible for regular reporting, including all program financial, narrative, and database requirements.
  • Act as the primary contact for the program in work across multiple sectors that include, but are not limited to WASH, FSL- Livelihood and Protection.
  • Develop the program management tools, SoPs, and standards
  • Develop and enforce anti-corruption measures and strengthen existing measures including the implementation of a sound Monitoring and Evaluation system to ensure the transparent use of donor funds. Report corruption issues to the donor according to established procedures.
  • Create and sustain a work environment of mutual respect where team members strive to achieve excellence.
  • Contribute to creating a work environment that encourages collaboration and professional growth.
  • Represent Amal in all clusters, networks, donors, partners and governmental  meetings or assign another one from the program
  • İncrease the capacity of the program team to be able to act as a program focal point
  • Add her/his experience to improve overall Amal strategy, policies and standards
  • All other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications, skills& experience

  • Master’s degree in International Relations, Conflict Studies, Development, Project Management, Monitoring, and Evaluation, or a related area.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English (Native English speakers are preferred)and Arabic is a plus
  • Experience in professional communication via email in English.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel utilization, Google suite, Internet Search Engines)
  • Experience in supporting the implementation of projects, preferably with institutional (bilateral or multilateral) funding mechanisms and proposal writing.
  • Experience in research initiatives, preparation, and publication of reports and information materials is an asset.
  • Understanding the importance of compliance in the project management cycle.
  • Ability to learn new ideas and distill accessible summaries from complex information
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines
  • Able to work under pressure, flexible to work after working hours and carry out some urgent task
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
